The 145 Front at City Square Worcester Apartments are at the Center of Revitalization

Based on a plan approved in fall of 2016, the city of Worcester will spend $96 million to revamp its downtown over the next 20 years. The area being renovated includes 118 acres of the city, from the Worcester Common to the Canal District. No doubt, it’s an extensive project, with $11 million allocated to Main Street alone.

The city is planning to acquire and refurbish several downtown properties, make the area more walkable, and continue hosting the community activities it introduced in early 2017, according to the City Manager. All of these changes build on a half-century tradition of improvement for the city, which has always endeavored to keep up with the constant influx of newcomers.

While the city is providing a solid foundation for the neighborhood, more and more businesses are popping up. A little over a ten-minute drive from the Worcester apartments of 145 Front at City Square are the newly built Lakeway Commons. This plaza has everything and a Starbucks. New storefronts include Whole Foods, Visionworks, Especially for Pets, UniBank, Tile Works, and Orangetheory Fitness, just to name a few.

Nearer to downtown, there are several new spots open, plus a few that are still on the way. The new dining and entertainment that occupies what was once the lobby of the Bancroft Hotel is yet more evidence of Worcester’s storied past, and its knack for renovation. These include the Craft Table & Bar, Revolution Pie + Pint, and the WooHaHa comedy club, all of which will be open before year’s end.

Yet more up and coming restaurants and bars include The Greater Good Imperial Brewing Company’s full-scale brewery and tap room, the 110 Grill (opening spring 2018), and Simjang, a Korean-American eatery brought to you by the same team that founded Deadhorse Hill.

And at the center of all of them is 145 Front at City Square. With places this great just steps away, you can’t help but live the downtown life in these Worcester apartments.
